Particle Sizes

Depending on the material and the desired surface functionalisation, Surflay's particles can range in size from a few hundred nanometres to hundreds of microns. These particles can also be labelled with different fluorescent dyes.

At Surflay we use state-of-the-art analytical methods such as DLS, Flow Cytometry, Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy and Disc Centrifuge to determine the particle size and monodispersity. For certain applications monodisperse particles with an extremely narrow size distribution can be prepared. Figure 2 shows the size distribution of a sample with a correlation value (CV) of 1.7 as measured by disc centrifuge (CPS).
