Porosity

In addition to the various material properties, it is also possible to control the porosity of the materials (Fig.). This can be achieved or prevented, among other things, by the selective accessibility of the particle core to certain substances which play an important role in how the sensor operates. Furthermore, LbL functionalisation of pores, as well as loading with active substances (bio) catalysts or medication and their controlled release are possible.
